Most false alarms occur when you are entering or leaving your home. To prevent false alarms, there is normally a 45-second entry or exit delay when arming your alarm system to AWAY.
Enter disarm code. If you enter your disarm code during 45-second entry/exit delay, the alarm event is canceled and no action is taken. The monitoring station will not call to verify if dispatch is needed.
Unable to enter disarm code. If the alarms system sends a signal to the monitoring station before you can disarm it, you can do two things:
- Answer the phone when a Central Station operator calls and give them your verbal password. If you miss this telephone call, you will need to call the monitoring station directly.
- Call the monitoring station at 800-932-0128 and inform the operator you need to cancel an alarm. You will need your verbal password and account number to do this.
Tips and Recommendations
- Once an operator requests emergency dispatch, any request to cancel the dispatch is up to the local police/fire department.
- Any false alarm fines that may result from a false alarm are the responsibility of the Subscriber.
