There are several approaches to determining the color of your paint. Here are a few ways you can find out the color of the paint in your home:
- New home paperwork. The original paint colors of your home are provided in your new home documentation. If you are repainting an entire area or room, or trying to coordinate other interior items, the original paint color/formula will probably work fine.
- Something from your home. If you are doing touch-up work and are trying to purchase paint to match a color that’s on the wall, it’s probably best to try matching the paint with something from your home (like an outlet cover that has been painted). Paints change color and sheen over time as they are exposed to sunlight and household activities.
