There is no such thing as “hail proof” roof tiles or shingles. You may have what’s known as “impact resistant” roofing material, which is designed to withstand some level of severe weather and hail. Impact resistant shingles/tiles are sometimes referred to as class 4 shingles/tiles.
Refer to your new home documentation to determine what type of shingle/roof tile is on your home. If you experience a weather event involving hail, you should conduct a simple visual inspection of your roof from street level or by looking through the window of a neighbor’s home. If you discover hail damage, consider contacting your home insurance provider. Hail damage is outside the scope of your new home warranty, but your home insurance provider may be able to assist.
