Concrete may have spots, variation in appearance, or “stains” due to the inherent characteristics of the material.
Concrete is a mixture of cement, sand, gravel, and water. During installation, we do our best to maintain a consistent ingredient mixture, but inevitably there are minor inconsistencies that can’t be avoided.
“Stains” or spots in concrete are considered normal and do not impact the integrity of the flatwork. Spots are usually most noticeable in the months after the concrete cures and typically fade over time as the concrete is exposed to the elements.
If you have spots on your concrete and are considering washes, sealants, or stains, be aware that it impacts your warranty coverage. Always consult a professional to make sure any treatments are done correctly.
