Carpet shedding, or the accumulation of excess carpet fibers, is a familiar phenomenon and is completely normal. The carpet shedding you see is fibers that release from the pile through foot traffic and vacuuming. Shedding will reduce significantly within a few months of installation and then occur in smaller amounts over the lifetime of the carpet.
Tips and Recommendations
During the early days in your home, make sure you empty your vacuum bag frequently as the volume of lint will be at its highest with a new carpet.
